Childhood and youth
Armando Christian Perez was born (this is actually the name of the artist) on January 15, 1981. The creative activity of the future musician made itself felt early – already at the age of three, little Armando with might and main recited the lyrical works of the Cuban writer and poet Jose Julian Martí y Perez. Later, the boy became interested in the music of Willie Chirino and Cecilia Cruz, and also got hooked on rap.
Armando was still a child when his parents separated. He stayed with his mother to live. With his father, he resumed relations at a more mature age.
Before becoming a world famous rapper, Perez graduated from South Miami Senior School and Miami Coral Park High School. For some time he lived in Roswell (USA, Georgia).
As a high school student, Armando begins to trade in drugs, for which he is expelled. When the boy’s mother found out about this, she kicked him out of the house, saying that it was because of drugs that she broke up with his father. Later, relations with his mother managed to improve, but at that time the minor Perez ended up in a foster family, which he thanks to this day.
The first steps in the musical field were taken by Perez back in 2000. Nevertheless, 2002 became a real start for the musician – by that time Armando already had a signed contract with the recording studio Luke Records, where he was hired by the vice-president of the label Julian Booth, and Robert Fernandez from Famous Artists Musics & Management took over the promotion of Pit Bull.
In 2002, Fernandez met the aspiring rapper with John Mortimer Smith, better known as Lil Jon. Smith was well known to the audience and was also working on a new album – what could be better for promoting an aspiring artist than working together with an already famous one? This is how the Lil Jon and Pitbull fit appeared on the Kings of Crunk album.
The joint work gave the expected results. The very next year, Pitbull was offered money to use his composition in John Singleton’s “Fast and Furious”. Later, the producers of the Fast and the Furious franchise again turned to the musician for songs to use them as soundtracks for films.
In 2004, the artist’s first studio album, MIAMI, was released.Pitbull’s debut took 14th place on the Billbord 200 chart and 11th on the Hot Rap Track. Guest performers include Lil Jon, Oobie, Cubo, Fat Joe, Sean Paul and Trick Daddy. The success of the compositions Culo and Dammit Man allowed Armando to join the concert tour of rappers Eminem and the 50 cent Anger Management Tour.
The performer’s personal life is shrouded in a veil of secrecy. It is not known for sure whether Pitbull is married or has children. Armando in every possible way supports the image of a hot macho and an alpha male: at every event where the musician appears, he is accompanied by different girls – mostly models.
